Goodbye Dad... It's hard to put into words the simultaneous emotions of grief, emptiness, love, and gratefulness I feel right now. I had more time than most to prepare for your death, but I don't think anything can prepare anyone for the hole the loss of a parent can leave. I am sad you are gone but happy to know that you no longer have to live as a shell of your former self. I will miss your quiet, sharp sense of humor that still managed to shine its way through the haze of Alzheimer that stole you from us. You taught me how to dream and made me believe that I was capable of anything I put my mind to. I will be forever grateful for that gift and hope to pass that on to my children so that your essence can live on through them. Love you Dad! 💜 January 23, 1947 - June 29, 2026 💜
