Laundry Is My Nemesis

Laundry is my nemesis. I hate it with a true passion and having kids has made it 10 times worst. I never liked doing laundry when I only had to worry about cleaning my own clothes. Now I am a mom of 4 kids, 3 of which are in extra curricular activities that require special clothing. So you can probably imagine that there is laundry every where in my house and it is never ending.

Throughout my home you can find piles of clothes that need to be washed, the clothes that haven’t been folded and the folded clothes that never made it into drawers. And the dirty clothes are always easy to throw into the washing machine. The problems start when I have to remember to put then into the dryer before they go sour.

Then after at least 2 washes (that’s the minimum for the average mom, right?), I very rarely manage to be able to fold them right out of the dryer. That’s the ideal solution, right? I am usually trying to folded loads and loads of laundry while managing an unruly child or two that thinks its hilarious to throw folded clothes across the room.

And once the clothes are all folded then comes the dreaded task of putting them away. Why does this seem to be the most difficult part? You would think I would want to get this clothes put away as quickly as possible so you can be done with the tasks. But no, those folded piles must be kept around to taunt me for days.

It’s the kind of thing that will haunt any mom in her dreams. So yes…laundry is my nemesis but that’s mom life.
